Cuisine Mexican
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 lime juiced
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 1 medium tomato diced
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 small jalapeño seeded and minced (optional, for heat)
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Cut the avocados in half, remove and discard the pits, and scoop the soft avocado flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the avocados with a fork until you achieve your desired consistency (some prefer chunky, while others prefer smooth).
Stir in the lime juice to prevent the avocados from browning.
Add the diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, and minced jalapeño (if using), minced garlic, and ground cumin to the mashed avocados.
Season the guacamole with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
Gently mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined. Taste and adjust the seasonings, if necessary.
Optional: For extra flavor, you can add more minced garlic or a dash of hot pepper sauce to the guacamole.
