Easy Tomato and Basil Salad

Here is how to make quick and easy tomato basil salad that is perfect for summer potlucks and dinners.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. tomatoes cored and chopped
  • 6 fresh basil leaves thinly sliced
  • ⅓ cup finely sliced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled and thinly sliced
  • ⅓ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
  • ⅓ cup Italian dressing or to taste
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Add chopped tomatoes, basil, sliced red onion, garlic, feta cheese, pecans or walnuts, and Italian dressing to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle honey over the salad. Toss to combine ingredients.
  • Transfer the tomato basil salad to a salad bowl to serve, or cover and refrigerate the salad for 20 to 30 minutes to chill before serving.

Notes

Roll each basil leaf into a cylinder, and then slice it into thin strips to make basil ribbons.
