Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 5 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Add butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until the ingredients are well combined and fluffy.
  • Add the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional) to the bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour the brownie mixture into the baking pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the edges of the brownie are set and a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with just a small amount of brownie mixture stuck to it. (The brownies will continue to cook as they cool.)
  • Let the brownies rest for at least 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Once the brownies have cooled, use a sifter to sprinkle confectioners' sugar over the brownies, if desired.
