Cuisine American
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- 5 Tbsp cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts optional
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
Add butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until the ingredients are well combined and fluffy.
Add the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional) to the bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
Pour the brownie mixture into the baking pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the edges of the brownie are set and a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with just a small amount of brownie mixture stuck to it. (The brownies will continue to cook as they cool.)
Let the brownies rest for at least 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Once the brownies have cooled, use a sifter to sprinkle confectioners' sugar over the brownies, if desired.
