  • Mixing Bowl. A large mixing bowl is another must-havre item for the kitchen. This recipe calls for mixing all the ingredients in one bowl, making clean-up easier.
  • Mixing Spoon. A large mixing spoon is needed to blend all the ingredients together.
  • All-Purpose Flour. Use all-purpose flour to make these cranberry muffins. This recipe also works well with gluten-free all-purpose flour; look for a flour blend has xanthan gum or another binding agent to hold the ingredients together. Muffins made using gluten-free flour may need a longer baking time.
  • Buttermilk. If you don’t have buttermilk, you can make a buttermilk substitute by stirring 2 tsp vinegar into a scant cup of milk. (Replace 2 tsp of the milk with vinegar.)
  • Cranberries. Use fresh cranberries if they are available to you. Frozen cranberries work well, too.
